After years of growth on the Amazon marketplace, the publisher of fun and educational children’s books wanted to diversify outside of the platform to drive brand awareness, engagement, and product sales.

Role

For this project, I acted as the creative and content strategist as well as hands-on web designer and developer.

Strategy

Leveraging the previously created brand tool kit, I developed a pitch deck with 3 unique design approaches for the brand to review. They ultimately chose a concept that focused on an interplay between 2d and 3d elements, symbolizing the brand’s core mission of bringing knowledge off the page and into the real world.

I began the buildout of the selected design concept in their preferred platform of Squarespace, utilizing custom CSS to bring the concept to life. Content creation started by auditing the brand’s existing products and aggregating all relevant meta-data that could be used to form the foundation of the website product pages. I then developed a taxonomy system to sort each release into categories based on topic, format, and audience, and created a custom template to surface existing copy and meta-data in an engaging and user-friendly way. Finally, I integrated the site with the brand’s existing ActiveCampaign database with branded forms and automations to sort, segment, and follow-up with incoming leads and subscribers.

Outcome

The website was successfully launched in September 2022. Additional insights coming soon.
